Questions
What is Rampart Capital Solutions?
It is financing for contractors. Rather than waiting out a customer's payment cycle, you can draw funds against invoices and pay applications for work you have already performed, and put that cash toward payroll, materials, and the next job.
Who is it for?
Engineering, procurement, and construction firms, operations and maintenance contractors, specialty trades, and industrial field-service businesses operating in the United States.
Who provides the financing?
Rampart Capital Solutions is powered by Kanmon, a licensed commercial lender, and loans are issued by Kanmon. All loans are subject to credit approval, and your terms may vary. The pricing and every fee are identified in the offer and the agreement you review before you sign anything.
How are my limit and pricing determined?
Underwriting looks at the receivables and at the businesses behind them: invoice aging, who your customers are and how they pay, your performance and payment history, and your financial profile. Your specific limit, advance rate, fees, and repayment terms come back to you in writing as part of your offer.
What will you ask me for?
Typically an accounts receivable aging report, recent financial statements, and information about the customers who owe you. Larger or more complex facilities may call for job-level detail such as contracts or work-in-progress schedules. We will tell you exactly what is required once we have seen your application.
What does applying involve, and does it affect my credit?
Applying starts a review of your business. Any credit inquiry is disclosed to you and requires your authorization before it is run, so nothing happens to your credit file without your say-so.
How does invoice financing differ from factoring?
With invoice financing you borrow against your invoices and keep collecting from your customers yourself. With factoring you sell the invoices outright, and the factor takes over collection, which means your customers deal with them instead of you. Rampart offers both. Which one fits depends on how much control you want over customer relationships and how your contracts are written.
How does repayment work?
Repayment terms are set out in your agreement and depend on the facility. In a receivables facility, advances are generally repaid as your customers pay the underlying invoices.
Does taking financing mean Rampart takes a stake in my company?
No. A credit facility is a lending relationship, not an ownership one. Rampart does invest in and acquire companies in this industry, but that is a separate conversation and one for you to start if you ever want to have it.
How long does it take?
We will acknowledge your application and tell you what we need next. Timing from there depends on the facility and how quickly documents come together, and we will keep you posted at each step rather than leaving you guessing.
